Farmacy Clear Bloom Cleansing Oil is a natural(ish) cleanser that dissolves makeup and then when water is added it turns into a milk and rinses away. I found it to be reasonably effective at removing makeup, although it didn’t do as good a job at removing eye makeup as some other cleansing oils and balms I’ve used.
This cleansing oil contains Farmacy’s proprietary Echinacea GreenEnvy complex, which helps protect the skin by supporting collagen production. Not sure how much of those benefits you’re going to get from a cleanser though. The grape, sunflower, safflower, and jojoba oils also help with makeup removal and help moisturize your skin.
Ingredients: Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Tridecyl Stearate, Tridecyl Trimellitate, Peg-20 Glyceryl Triisostearate, Dipentaerythrityl Hexacaprylate/Hexacaprate, Sorbitansesquioleate, C12-15alkylbenzoate, Vitisvinifera(Grape)Seedoil, Butylene Glycol, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Squalane, Jojoba Esters, Glycerin, Patented Echinacea Purpurea ‘Greenenvytm’ Root Extract, Tocopherol.
I found Farmacy Clear Bloom Cleansing Oil to be good, but not great. It did an OK job with makeup removal, but it didn’t rinse well and smelled absolutely horrible. The other cleansing balms and oils I’ve tested have rinsed very clean and dissolved immediately upon contact with water. This, however, had to be rinsed and rubbed for a couple minutes to get my skin to feel clean again. It was some hardcore residue. Any residue came off no problem when I followed up with my usual cleanser, I just prefer my cleanser to be actually cleansing my skin and not removing my makeup remover.
I like Farmacy as a brand, and I especially like that they are cruelty free, natural, organic etc. But overall, I just feel kind of meh about this product. Honestly, the best part about this cleansing oil is the packaging, which is absolutely gorgeous. The frosted glass bottle, the wood look cap, the silver iridescent “A” in the logo. It’s real pretty. But what’s inside the bottle just didn’t work well for me. I think it would appeal more to those with dry skin since it is quite heavy and moisturizing. It doesn’t seem like the best choice for oily or acne-prone skin.
