First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream is a great value.  If you have dry skin or suffer from eczema or irritated, itchy skin, this is your life saver.  This  soothing, calming cream that makes a difference in your skin after just one use.  The ingredients are quite basic and designed for sensitive, reactive skin (except for the inclusion of a tiny amount of eucalyptus, which could be irritating for some that are very sensitive).

It can be used for face or body depending on where you need it.  I have used it in a variety of situations, but where it was most effective was at curing a few dry, red patches on my arms.  After a couple uses they were dramatically improved.  It’s pretty good on your face as well, if it’s feeling particularly sensitive, irritated, or over exfoliated.  There is a reason this stuff has something of a cult following, it’s because it works.

Ultra Repair Cream contains colloidal oatmeal, which is an excellent ingredient for relief of itchy, irritated skin.  Otherwise, the formula is fairly simple, including various emollients and hydrators to help repair skin.  It is a very thick cream with a whipped texture that sinks into skin without leaving any greasy residue.  This is one of the reasons I particularly like it as a body cream.  If you want to apply it to your face, be aware that the very thick texture may cause clogged pores for those with acne prone skin.

Ingredients: Colloidal Oatmeal at 0.5%, Water, Stearic Acid, Glycerin, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride,Glyceryl Stearate, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Cetearyl Alcohol, Caprylyl Glycol, Phenoxyethanol, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Squalane, Allantoin, Sodium Hydroxide, Dimethicone, Xanthan Gum, Disodium EDTA, Chrysanthemum Parthenium (Feverfew) Extract, Camellia Sinensis (White Tea) Leaf Extract, Butylene Glycol, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Eucalyptus Globulus, Ceramide 3.

Overall, I prefer First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream as a body cream, but it is appropriate for use on the face as well if you aren’t prone to clogged pores.  It has a nice, simple formula that should work for most skin types.  It does not contain synthetic fragrance, colourants, or parabens, and First Aid Beauty products are not tested on animals.

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream is available in sizes ranging from 1 – 8oz, for $6.50 – 34USD.  You can find it at Sephora.
