Herbivore Botanicals Organic Blue Tansy Resurfacing Mask Review

I love exfoliating.  It feels so good to wash off a resurfacing mask and feel soft, smooth skin underneath.  That is what it feels like to use the Herbivore Botanicals Organic Blue Tansy Resurfacing Mask.  It uses fruit enzymes and willow bark to exfoliate, rather than the usual glycolic/lactic/salicylic acids.  This method of resurfacing is gentler and less likely to cause irritation.  It does cause a bit of a tingling sensation on sensitive skin, though.

This mask contains all natural ingredients, and Herbivore states that all ingredients are included for a specific therapeutic reason.  No fillers, just pure product!  Every ingredient in this product has a specific purpose and is intended to benefit your skin in some way.  In addition to the resurfacing ingredients, the primary ingredient is aloe, which is gentle, soothing, and moisturizing.  It also contains blue tansy oil, which is quickly becoming a very popular ingredient in skincare products.  Blue tansy oil is very anti-inflammatory, and helps calm redness and soothe skin.  It also has a beautiful blue-green colour.  But not to worry, it only appears as a very slight blue tint when applied to your face and it washes right off.

Ingredients: Aloe Barbadensis (Organic Aloe) Leaf Juice, Hydroxyethyl Cellulose (plant derived), Papaya/Pineapple Base (Aloe Barbadensis (Organic Aloe) Leaf Juice, Glycerin, Carica Papaya (Organic Papaya) Fruit Extract, Carica Papaya (Organic Papaya) Leaf Extract, Ananas Comosus (Organic Pineapple) Fruit Extract, Salix Nigra (Willow) Bark Extract, Tanacetum annuum (Blue Tansy) Leaf Oil, Leuconostoc/Radish Root Ferment Filtrate, Jasminum Officinale (Jasmine) Extract.

This is a really lovely mask and I’ve used about a third of the jar over the past few months.  This has yielded at least a dozen applications already, and I expect at least a couple dozen more.  The $48USD price tag doesn’t seem so bad when you are probably getting at least a 30 applications from one jar.

Herbivore uses no artificial ingredients, fillers, parabens, alcohol, animal ingredients, synthetic fragrances, sulfates, artificial colours, or unnatural preservatives.  Yay!

I’m a fan of this mask, and I definitely recommend it.

Herbivore Botanicals Organic Blue Tansy Resurfacing Mask is available at Sephora and Amazon.
