Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Review

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush is one of the best blushes I have ever had the pleasure of using.  All the colours are extremely beautiful, and I wish I owned them all.  The two that I do have are Radiant Magenta and Incandescent Electra.  Radiant Magenta is a bright pinky purple, and Incandescent Electra is a bright coral shade.  Incandescent Electra looks good on me all year, but I find Radiant Magenta looks best on me in the summer when I have a bit more colour.  I’m pretty pale, and Radiant Magenta can be a bit much for me if I don’t apply it with a very light hand.  I’ve included photos of the blushes in the pan, swatched on my hand, and with the colour diffused and blended out a bit.

The blush colours are combined with the amazing Hourglass Ambient Lighting powders in the pan.  This creates a beautiful marbled look to the product.  It almost looks too pretty to use!  The exterior packaging is beautiful as well, with a very luxe look and feel.  The gold case is gorgeous and shiny, but gets covered in fingerprints almost immediately.  Not that I care about that though.

This blush is also mineral-based, so no talc!  This is good news for me since talc breaks me out and almost every blush everywhere is talc-based.  So it just makes me love this product even more.  In my experience so far, powder products by Hourglass are generally pretty good for people prone to breakouts or reactions since their products are fairly gentle and tend to be fragrance free, talc free, and generally don’t contain high quantities of silicones or waxes (though there is still a bit).

Their products are also not tested on animals.  I’ve included the ingredients list for both shades since the colourants do differ a bit.

I highly recommend Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush to everyone.  There aren’t a lot of shades available, but I think that everyone can probably find a shade that will suit them.  The product contains 0.15oz for $38USD.  I have no problem shelling out a bit more for really good blush since you use so little at a time.  I’ve been using both of my shades for months now, with almost daily use, and you can barely even tell I’ve used any.  So I have no doubt that these will last for a very long time, probably years.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush is available at Sephora, or Net-a-Porter (incandescent electra / radiant magenta).
