Kate Somerville Goat Milk De-Puffing Eye Balm

Kate Somerville Goat Milk De-puffing Eye Balm is an AM and PM eye treatment designed to help with puffiness, dryness, and fine lines.  It comes in a stick formula that you swipe underneath your eyes before applying sunscreen and makeup.  The consistency is comparable to lip balm or chapstick.  I found it to be very hydrating, smoothing, and brightening.  De-puffing is not really at the top of my list of undereye concerns, so I can’t really comment on that.

After patting it a bit to help it absorb, other products apply over top seamlessly.  I experienced no pilling or smearing of any kind when applying foundation and/or concealer on top.  What’s really impressive though, is that if you need a bit of a pick-me-up in the afternoon, you can apply it on top of your makeup as well.  It didn’t visibly disturb my makeup at all.  Then after applying a light dusting of powder over top, my undereye area just looked fresh, smooth, and bright.

The goat’s milk in the formula helps soothe and moisturize dry skin.  There are also peptides and antioxidants from the milk and manuka honey.  Light diffusing pigments also help to blur imperfections, and diminish any lines or wrinkles.  The balm is also fragrance free, which is great for sensitive skin.

Ingredients: Water, Propanediol, Bis-PEG-18 Methyl Ether Dimethyl Silane, Glycerin, Sodium Stearate, Di-PPG-2 Myreth-10 Adipate, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Goat Milk Powder, Lactose, Milk Protein, Manuka (Leptospermum) Honey Extract, Jojoba Oil PEG-150 Esters, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Medicago Sativa (Alfalfa) Seed Extract, Polianthes Tuberosa Callus Extract, Hydrolyzed Lupine Protein, Menthoxypropanediol, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Lactic Acid.

My only issue with this product is that after a couple weeks of use, I started to get tiny breakouts and clogged pores across the tops of my cheekbones.  Something in the formula didn’t agree with my skin.  Which is really unfortunate, since I actually liked this eye balm quite a lot.  It was hydrating, portable, easy to use, and was very compatible with makeup.

So if you aren’t breakout-prone, I definitely recommend this.

Kate Somerville Goat Milk De-puffing Eye Balm is available in a 0.3oz stick for $38USD at Sephora, Nordstrom, and Neiman Marcus.
