The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 is incredibly cost-effective ($8!) and is an excellent hydrator. So if you’re looking for a basic hydration serum, you’ve found it! It contains 2% hyaluronic acid (which can hold 1000x it’s weight in water btw…) and vitamin B5. I don’t think it’s quite as good as the Hylamide Low-Molecular HA (read my review HERE), but it still does a good job and it’s way cheaper.
Ingredients: Aqua (Water), Sodium Hyaluronate, Sodium Hyaluronate Crosspolymer, Panthenol, Ahnfeltia Concinna Extract, Glycerin, Pentylene Glycol, Propanediol, Polyacrylate Crosspolymer-6, PPG-26-Buteth-26, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Trisodium Ethylenediamine Disuccinate, Citric Acid, Ethoxydiglycol, Caprylyl Glycol, Hexylene Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Phenoxyethanol, Chlorphenesin.
The somewhat bare bones formula is fantastic for sensitive or acne-prone skin. There are no fragrances, alcohols, silicones, or much of anything to cause a reaction. As with all products from DECIEM Labs, it’s also cruelty free and vegan.
A little of the lightweight gel serum applied before your moisturizer will provide excellent hydrating and skin-plumping results. You’ll notice a difference pretty much immediately. It makes dry and dehydrated skin feel more comfortable right away. With continued use, you will notice that skin appears plumped and fine lines are less noticeable.
I also really like mixing it with face oils, emulsifying it in my hands, and applying that as my moisturizer. My preferred oils include Marula, Rosehip, and Argan oils, but you can use whatever type of oil you like best.
There’s no reason not to try this hydration serum. All skin types require adequate hydration and this serum provides it effectively and for a really low cost (compare to some other hyaluronic acid serums that cost about 10x more…).
I highly recommend trying this out. At this price point, why wouldn’t you?
