I have struggled with finding a good exfoliating cleanser in the past. Either they’re too harsh, or there aren’t enough exfoliating particles, or the particles are too big, or it was loaded with perfume… I was starting to feel like goldilocks, nothing was just right. Then I received Vasanti BrightenUp! Exfoliating Cleanser in my ipsy glam bag a couple months ago. It was love at first cleanse.
It may sound a little weird to have such a hard time just finding something to scrub my face. I mean, it’s just removal of dead skin cells, how could it be so difficult? Seriously though, try this and you too will be converted.
Vasanti is a Canadian-based skincare and makeup brand (woohoo Canada!) that believes that good looking makeup starts with good skin. So true. They use many natural ingredients, are paraben-free, and never test their products on animals.
This particular exfoliating cleanser is the perfect combination of enough creamy base to suspend the product, lots and lots of exfoliating particles, and the addition papaya enzymes that act as AHAs to chemically exfoliate. Although any exfoliating cleanser isn’t really on your face long enough to do much in the way of chemical exfoliation. So keep that in mind. That goes for all chemical exfoliant cleansers, not just this one. There is also a small amount of fragrance, and I’m unclear on whether it’s natural or not. But it hasn’t cause me any issues.
The best part about Vasanti BrightenUp! Exfoliating Cleanser is that the exfoliating particles are actually microcrystals. No plastic microbeads here! They are super effective and plentiful and make your skin feel amazing afterwards. This is probably about as close to microdermabrasion as you’re going to get without a dermatologist visit.
